The summer solstice in the Basilica of Vézelay
Like Stonehenge, the pyramids or other sacred places, the basilica of Vézelay was built according to the race of the sun, its architecture designed to interact with the light. At the summer solstice a path of light is formed on the slabs of the nave.

While walking in the Basilica of Vézelay accompanied by a guide of the House of the Visitor, you will discover that in the 12ème century the monks-builders welcomed the light of the sun in order to recreate in the church another light ... at the House of the Visitor, the guide will explain you around the models the symbolism of this Light and the know-how of the craftsmen. This visit is also for people who have already done the discovery workshop.
